There is nothing to detect throttle, and the SVs of this generation are all cable throttle anyways. You can sit there in 6th just blipping away at the shifter making fart noises.
And anyways, its a fuel cut not ignition cut, so you won' t be dumping unburned fuel out of the cylinders.ĭoes it detect gears, or will it try to quickshift me into 7th? I haven' t ridden the bike in a while, but i' m pretty sure I tested this, and it will not quickshift at very light throttle cruising. It seems to want to see a certain amount of fuel flow/injector activity before it allows quickshifting. I' m not entirely sure if the module still cuts fuel in a normal rolling off throttle and clutching shift. I can only assume these are individually assembled on a per-demand basis and are not stocked. The bike I put this on I am not the primary rider, so I don' t get to practice with it much. Of course, this might be something that you will overcome with practice or fine tuning in the app. It is only from that cut point forward do you have time to move the shifter, so sometimes you will miss shifts. With this, it is firm, the sensor detects the shifter movement, adds a delay to allow you to build up force, and then cuts the fuel. A factory quickshifter bike such as the new ZX-6R will let you move the shift lever up a certain amount with little resistance, get to the shift point, then it shifts, just like that, smooth. If you ride a bike that comes out of the factory with a quickshifter and compare it to this, you will be disappointed. The shifting action itself on an SV650 isn' t particularly refined. Setup is via a phone app with bluetooth, pretty straightforward and allows some advanced adjustments such as variable shift cut time per RPM range. There is no wire splicing or anything needed, its all plug and play. Getting those connectors to let go was tricky for me, they didn' t want to come out, and I didn' t want to break anything. You have to lift the tank, remove the airbox and get to the fuel injector connectors underneath. Installation takes a few hours, probably less if you know what you are doing. Even the module firmware can be updated wirelessly (with our zero-risk technology) which makes the product future proof.
